Paddling Day – Pender Island
Today was paddling day. The sun came out, the wind calmed down, and the waves of the previous days had disappeared. It was the perfect Pender Island day to spend on the water. A day with so much to see: … Continue reading

Fried Egg Jellyfish – Peter Cove South
A few weeks ago one of our favorite coves became home to many jellyfish. There were Moon Jellyfish and Lion’s Mane Jellyfish, but the most impressive were the Fried Egg Jellyfish. From the kayak we watched them surface and dive, … Continue reading
Paddling, painting and an unexpected turn of events
Today started as many of our Pender days do, breakfast, choose a beach to hang out on, and that is about it until suppertime rolls around. After waffles and bacon (expertly prepared by my husband!), we headed out to Grimmer … Continue reading

Beach Sketching
Five minutes, a sketch book, some pens, and beautiful weather resulted in a sketch I quite like. This is Peter Cove South. Wonderfully quiet on a spring afternoon . (The side by side shot.)

Waterside Fun
I thought for a change I’d share some images of island life. Fun by the water is “the” reason to spend time in the Gulf Islands. The following images are from one of our “locals”, Peter Cove South (Pender Island, … Continue reading

February Kayaking
Kayaking in Canada in February, amazingly it is possible out on the west coast. Smooth waters and warm temperatures made for a lovely afternoon paddle at Peter Cove South on Pender Island.
