Beach Painting at Bricky Bay

It has been ages since my last post. Several different events ( including a snow storm, a wind storm, sickness, work and a rock slide!) delayed us getting back to our island home, creating a 9 week gap where we were off island. Today we finally made it to the island.

A drive through the night may have left us quite tired, but we still managed a trip to Bricky Bay this afternoon (after getting an amazing sandwich at the Vanilla Leaf Bakery ). The light faded quickly, but I had just enough time for a quick watercolour painting.

The small 5″x7″ painting came with a challenges including shifting light, everything being wet, and paint that refused to dry. In the end en plein air painting is all about the experience. Let’s hope we have a few dry days in the coming week so that there are more paintings in my future.
