Yesterday, after reaching our island home, I quickly set about watering our very dry plants. I really should have known better. Within half an hour of finishing, the skies opened up with hours and hours of pouring rain.
Not one to let the rain beat us, we decided to still head to the beach. First we tried Bridges Road (pictured at the top), but the tide was too high. So we carried on to Medicine Beach.
Medicine Beach is almost always accessible at high tide. We managed a beach walk in the rain, and enjoyed having the beach to ourselves. Only a few shells dotted the beach, but among the driftwood I managed to find a cool driftwood heart.
Plus one more find on the way home was the last of the summer’s blackberries. The berries finished off the salad that went with our dinner quite nicely.
