I’ve spent the last few days working in our garden. We’ve been staying close to home as the children are sharing a sickness; one gets it, then another, then the next. I suspect we are not out of the woods yet.
Yesterday I was cleaning out our raised veggie beds and came across a few handfuls of mini carrots. Still fine from last year and quite tasty.
The veggie beds were under achievers last year, however the year before they produced a lot of food. I have spent the last few days trying to figure out what went wrong last year. We’ve decided to make the raised beds deeper, add new soil and add in compost. Hopefully this will help, and hopefully it will rain at just the right times.
