January Afternoon at Medicine Beach – Pender Island, BC, Canada

“January Afternoon at Medicine Beach”
acrylic on panel

A few posts ago I had commented on how I had an aversion to painting sunsets. Well I decided to take baby steps and start with a light pink, late in the day sky, inspired by Medicine Beach.

I still worry that the pink is too twee, but my husband likes it. Maybe I just need to get over my color prejudices, or work bigger with pink as this is a small 8×10 painting.

The next painting up is of Roe Islet. It is already started, and bigger at 24″x24″. Bigger is always more fun.
