Purple, purple everywhere!

This was one of those days where starfish were everywhere. On this day at the beach, Starvation Bay (Pender Island, BC, Canada) was literally covered with hundreds of purple starfish, quite an amazing site to see. Every day at the beach is different and you never quite know what you will find.

Wow! Those are crazy looking starfish. Are they common to the area?

We see them quite often if the tides are low enough. This beach has them quite often, I think they like the rocks and it is a very quiet area.
