Bloodstar

blood starOne of the best thing about walking along beaches are the surprises you find. Sometimes it is beach glass, a battered float, or the coolest piece of driftwood ever, but on a really lucky day you’ll have the pleasure to come across a starfish. On this visit to the beach at Bridges Road on Pender Island, BC, we came across a blood star resting on the rocky beach.

blood star at bridges roadWe usually come across purple starfish clinging to rocks as the tide goes out, so seeing a different type of starfish was quite a treat. The blood star,  bright red-orange in color, with delicate, narrow legs, made for some colorful images on a grey and windy day.

  1. What a great find – it’s beautiful!

  2. It’s interesting to see the original and compare it to the photohopped version on your other blog. Photoshop is still a mystery to me.Beautiful shots by the way.

Photoshop I think is one of those things that you just have to have the right image if you want to play with the “fun” features. The bulk of what I do with the program is just levels and using the clone tool for retouching…not too exciting.
